EDUCATION

EDUCATION

We are striving to universalize quality education by making it accessible to the marginalized sections of our society. 4Our prime objective is to make education more engaging, through the use of Information, Communication and Technology (ICT), with the intention of lowering dropout rate and enhancing the interest and engagement of the child. Also help existing schools lower drop-out rate by employing engaging educational tools. Our core philosophy is that schooling should be as engaging for students as their favourite game. We are also planning to set up our own schools that give strong foundation to the students and help them translate their dreams into reality.

We are in the process of setting up pre schooling centers for kids, particularly in rural India where parents cant afford quality education. We are focused to strengthen the bunyaad (Foundation) of rural kids so that they can show their potential to the world and have access to the best institutions in the world on the basis of their merit.

WHY WE THINK GOVERNMENT SCHOOLS PREPARE US FOR LIFE

Govt. schools are out rightly disparaged by one and all because of the obvious reasons. We tried to find out if people had anything positive to say about the Govt. schools but we were highly disappointed to know that people could only think of free food and books as a positive side of Govt. Schooling. However, we believe Govt. schools are the best; the only need is to ensure the quality delivery mechanism. The teachers need to own the schools and put in their best to shape the generation which is on their anvil.

  1. It admitted me at an age when I was ready for schooling.
  2. It allowed me enjoy my childhood, climb trees, mountains, swim in rivers, play with the sheep and cattle etc.
  3. It made me stay healthy and strong by walking to the school and back home.
  4. No students of my school ever committed suicide on getting low score.
  5. It gave me an opportunity to interact with the world and didn’t reduce my world to a bus ride from home to school and back.
  6. It never gave me any inferiority complex about my looks, my clothes and family.
  7. It taught me that appropriate punishment in school is a greatest lesson in life.
  8. It always gave me a sense of dignity of labour.
  9. It never made me think “I am the best” but humble.
  10. It kept me connected with my language, cultural roots and value system.
  11. It taught me in my vernacular language which is encouraged by educationist world over.
  12. It never instilled in me the negative spirit of rat race.
  13. It didn’t focus on score but education.

How can Govt schools add value to their education and make it more engaging for the students and keep their motivation levels high while their curiosity ignited?

OUR PERSPECTIVE

At Bunyaad Foundation, we spent three years understanding the root cause and we concluded that there were three broad and basic factors that led to their drop out and I could easily relate to their stories as I had personally experienced the Govt school environment. Here are the three basic reasons we believe students fail to pursue education and develop negative interests or look for short cut methods to earn money which results in some negative activity.

  1. CURIOSITY DEFICIT MOTIVATION DEFICIT 3.CONFIDENCE DEFICIT

Needless to explain the above mentioned factors, however, there is a dire need to address these three issues so that students in our Govt schools are curious to explore, motivated to continue and confident to face the challenges of this competitive world.

We have a comprehensive range of programs to address these issues. Here is how we create an environment where students become curious, and are motivated and at the end feel confident to face any challenges.
